Taylor Swift isn’t giving up those texts without a fight! Er, at least someone close to her isn’t…
As we’ve been following, there’s been some insane back-and-forth between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni regarding her communications with the pop star. It’s been a waiting game of will they/won’t they release those texts. Baldoni is still seeking them despite no longer having Tay subpoenaed. Made us wonder if his team knows they’ll find something there to help their case…
Well, we thought we’d finally heard Blake would be forced to give up the communications with her former bestie! But not without some more pushback from Mz. Swift.
According a source for DailyMail.com, it’s someone close to Tay who’s really fighting this decision from the judge — none other than her dad Scott Swift.
The insider, who is in Nashville and has been close to the Fortnight singer’s parents for some time, said:
“This is a blow but I doubt Scott Swift will take it lying down. If there’s a loophole or something he can do to fight this he’ll figure it out.”
Not only is Papa Swift a total Mastermind when it comes to his daughter’s career — he wants to protect his little girl, too! And we can’t blame him!

But he’s not the only one who’s going to come up to bat for Taylor — or should we say, play offense. The 34-year-old’s boyfriend Travis Kelce has the same mindset as Scott, per the source:
“Travis is very much in the same vein. They’re both extroverts and they come off as good guys. But they’re both very old school and protective as well and they keep their eyes on the prize, which in this case is Taylor.”
Don’t let Trav and Scott’s friendly exterior fool you, either. They’ll do anything for Taylor. Her father, in particular, seems ready to take this head-on, per a country music insider:
“People call him Papa Swift with affection and he’s always had that friendly, old-school energy. But behind the warmth is a laser-focused strategist. He was all dad on the surface, but there’s a Wall Street brain ticking underneath. Taylor’s voice and songwriting got her noticed, but Scott’s instincts really got her the empire.”
The source wants it to be clear, too — Scott is no “fool” when it comes to business:
“He’s got a kind of golf-course charm, the kind of guy who remembers your kids’ names but Scott Swift is nobody’s fool. He was reading contracts and sizing up people way before Taylor was a household name.”
Better watch out for Papa Bear!
However… this source doesn’t seem to be taking into account that sources claimed it was Scott who reached out Baldoni’s team in the first place! Attorney Bryan Freedman claimed in a letter to the court that a source close to Tay was the one who told him Blake had tried to extort her girl. And that “source” was supposedly her dad per a bombshell report that came out later. So is he actually planning on fighting this order? Or is giving up one particular conversation the whole plan?? Because if all this is true, it sounds like Scott — and Tay — may be more interested in helping out Justin.
